The BLOX VMS video edit screen (VMS-2338) prior to this update showing the Summary field on the left and the Description field on the right. The Summary field has been removed for consistency.
In this release of BLOX VMS, we have removed the Description field from the video edit screen, updated the behavior of players and feeds when a playlist is marked as deleted, and resolved a few bugs.
IMPROVEMENTS
The "Summary" field has been removed from the video edit screen, and the video description now serves as the primary text field, ensuring consistency across the platform. (VMS-2338)
The MRSS feed generation process has been updated to pull values from the Description field instead of the Summary field. As part of this improvement, the Description field will be automatically populated with content from the Summary field when the Description is empty. This update will be included in the release process.
The API has been updated to support these changes. Now accepting and returning values from the Description field instead of the Summary field. The Summary field will be deprecated but will remain in place. API users are encouraged to make the necessary adjustments to allow for the eventual removal of the Summary field.
When a playlist is marked as deleted, the players and feeds previously remained active. This has been updated so that, like a deleted video, the players and feeds now return a 404 response when accessed. This change ensures consistent behavior across the platform for deleted content. (VMS-2344)
BUGS
Fixed a bug where disabling the recording setting for a recurring or always-on event, removed it from the recording queue but still showed it as scheduled to record. This fix ensures that the recording status updates correctly, providing clearer scheduling information. (VMS-2188)
Fixed a bug where overlapping livestream events were not always triggering a conflict warning when set to record. Conflicts are now correctly detected in all scenarios, including complete overlaps, partial overlaps, and "Go Live Now" events. (VMS-2313)
This release also makes minor infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
